EVENING HUSBANDRY

Monday, September 30th, 2013

Afternoon Style Fundamentalists. Hope all is awfully well. Got this big Savile Row evening wear project on this week, isnt it. I forecast it will prove not only exciting but educational, most probably for me. Probably wont look like this either, I hope.

Peter Falk, Ben Gazzara and John Cassavetes in Husbands.

Talking of Husbands, am sure you’ll be relieved to hear all went well with Mr.Chernins wedding. Shot of The Balaeric Russian and myself on steps of Bethnal Green Town Hall looks very much like we’re on our civil ceremony. It might well be the matching Emma Willis ties that do it, no?

Balearic Russian & Style-Butler, Bethnal Green Town Hall.

I can assure you, we didnt get married, not even a bit. His beautiful wife Sam looked rather more elegant/radiant than I. Havent got the pictures to do her justice however- was on button holes, not button pushing, see? Look, will tell ya more about this Row caper when I can. Right now am up to my lats in fashion returns in the luxe-cellar.

IT’S ON

Saturday, September 28th, 2013

Morning Style Mongers. No time for banter. It’s On. The Balearic Russian’s wedding begins shortly. Last minute prep included shoes if you remember. We went round some pretty glamorous houses.

And we ended up with Russell and his pal Bromley. Nice, thanks lads.

Have to tell you more about Chernin’s club, It’s On, another time. Hurry up, the biggest deal in your life is gonna go down. Have you got big pockets?

ON BRAND

Thursday, September 26th, 2013

Morning Style-Merchants. Anyone seen Carlo Brandelli about? Just wondered. He told me he was down a quarry yesterday, picking out a nice bit of stone. He’s a sculptor these days you see. Wonder what else he might be doing?

Meanwhile, his old place, Kilgour, was recently acquired by Fung Captial. Just wondering, you know what might be going on down The Row and elsewhere. Exciting times in sculpture, menswear and all sorts, no?When hes back from his cutting, am hoping to have a word with the man. Until then, am off on a covert one myself this morning. Cheerio.

KNOCKING IT OUT OF THE THEATRE

Tuesday, September 24th, 2013

Evening Bitch Crackers Awayers. So Paris Vogue Hommes International knocks it clean out of the theatre of mens style again. When does it not? The good thing about very good work is that its no effort to consume it. It just happens. Their work is so well done, its effortless consuming. Nice. Thanks for that you lot.  Alain Fabian Delon, Alains boy, is on the cover shot by David Simms and styled by Emmanuelle Alt.

Alains in his Dad’s game- acting too. Alain looks eminently sparkable at times, but its good. So are many of the other shoots. Even their kettle story is double dignified, correct and super stylish. Get down the competition. The thing ends with a big fashion bang, just to show they can still do fashion full throt’ if they fancy it. Do yourself a menswear favour and get a copy. I’ve got a couple of shoots coming up by the way. Gulp.

BALEARIC RUSSIAN NUPTIALS

Monday, September 23rd, 2013

Afternoon Style Fanatics. Chernin’s nuptials hurtle towards us. Lucky he looked like this on Friday in Hostem in Casely-Hayford suit. Look, there’s ‘little’* Charlie in the mirror admiring his sartorial work. Thrilled with this suit, he’s done a wicked job. Styled it a couple of ways, but reckon this might be it.

Emmett pink shirt with Soprano collar. Emma Willis silk/linen slubby tie. Anderson&Sheppard cotton lawn cocoa polka dot from the Dabberhashery (click). We’ll be doing gold cufflinks. Think vintage looking amber battons. Need a nice gold chain too, with a gold locket, in which we can place a picture of Chernin back-in-the-day. He can check this at various points during the ceremony if he wants to.

Insider branding- Earnest Pilgrim Father slips past with lap top.

Does actually say Balearic Russian inside now, so that means its simply must be true. He’s currently legging it round the Metropolis getting the sleeves of the shirt reduced slightly, arent you bearded man?

Also says Casely-Hayford, and Ariston, as thats where the gorgeous cashmere silk blend came from, innit. Such a sophisticated fabric, cant get over it. The cut of the coat and all the lines on the collar/lapels/vest are terrifice. Charlie nailed it in almost one go- seriously good practical tailoring. Now its all about the shoes. Five days and counting. What on earth am I going to do?
